Well...it's been an interesting week. I'm sick most of the afternoons and evenings. Mornings are great!
Ryan and I found a beautiful 1927 bungalow which we fell in love with and we bought. It's in Denver overlooking a park and the Denver skyline on roughly a quarter of an acre. It's four bedrooms plus an office and two fireplaces and a re-done kitchen. It has fruit trees in the yard (and I have no clue how to care for fruit trees) and rose and lavendar bushes. It also has a koi pond which I'm sure the dogs will mistake for their own outdoor waterbowl.
Friday morning, Ryan went out to warm up his Saab and before you knew it, it wasn't there. It has his work laptop and our 2006 taxes in there. Talk about a lovely weekend! He organized fraud alerts on everything from bank accounts, credit agencies, social security, etc. He had a locksmith change the locks on our house and our other cars. So if this ever happens to you, plan to spend around $800 for the clean-up.
Eban is about to crawl...he's almost there! He also loves mashed potatoes, some fruit, ice cream, cheesecake, and other soft food items. It's fun to see him eat and chew and want some more. But it's not fun when you run out of food and he wants more. He has a mini-fit. I hope that behavior doesn't last long!
Enjoy your week!

Teething and moving
Our little man is teething and as a first time mom, I had no idea that meant tons of drool, unhappy camper (at times), and chewing on lots of things.
Since we are expecting again (we'll find out how many of you are reading this), we need to move. I copied the following story of our first look at a house from an email I sent to our former next door neighbors who now live in Australia.
"We’ve only looked at one place so far (in Lakewood, not Highlands Ranch) and it was the perfect backyard with a pool, but the house was in disrepair. AND, in the basement next to a desk was a list two pages long about all the strange occurrences “It” has done in the past two years. The list was as follows: June 9, 2006: It turned on the oven, made the phone rang, and turned off the lights. September 20, 2006: It threw off everything that was in order on the kitchen table. Some things broke. December 20, 2006: It does not like Christmas. It threw Mr. and Mrs. Claus down the stairs and they broke (that was my personal favorite). December 26, 2006: It took off all the Christmas decorations and now they are at the foot of the tree in a mess. After reading more entries, I decided the place was AWESOME! So I vowed never to go back as that list creeped me out. Ryan said I was being a pansy and told me how cool it would be to have “it” as a roommate. Yea, call me crazy, but I don’t find that too cool. The real estate agent learned of this story and she promptly called the folks and they took down the list because it could be viewed as a deterrent when buying the house. You think?!
That’s the only half-way decent story of late other than the black mold across the street."
In April, we've signed up for swimming lessons at our local recreation center. It's for five weeks and we'll see how Mr. Eban does.

Shout out for the Wedlakes!
I've had many phone calls and emails saying that the Baby Gap contest was rigged, etc. That's very sweet of you to say if you are one of the folks who called or emailed. In fact, I was eating at Strings Restaurant in Denver last night and one of my fellow bar patrons told me he saw Eban in the society column in the Denver Post or the Rocky Mountain News and he loved the photo. I told him if he wanted a similar photo of his children or animals that he had to go to Wedlake Photography...so this is my shout out to Paul and Beth Wedlake. If you need a professional photographer in Denver, they are the best bet by leaps and bounds. They are genuinely nice people with great senses of humor. Please send them business as I always try to do - www.wedlake.com. See some of their great pics below:

Animal pictures and Eban is running!
Eban didn't win the Baby Gap contest but that's fine with us. The Baby Gap threw in another $250 for a gift card to Gap for us!
Got two funny pictures of the dogs this weekend. Their tongues are out and wagging.
Murphie's joints and body are really being affected by the extreme weather. She's limping a lot and it's tough to see her body give out on her like this. We're hoping to have a couple more years with her, so we'll see if she returns to a picture of health after the snow leaves. Anyway, I threw in a picture of the cat as she doesn't usually take photos. She runs and hides from the camera. And Eban loves touching the dogs...we'll have to be very watchful over the next several years that he touches nicely and treats animals with kindness.
Eban also loves his musical easel that the Rehm's got him for Christmas. He practically dives into the bag at the bottom of the easel to chomp on the magnets or to bang them on the easel. He cries when we remove him from playing with this toy. That's a new behavior so we hope he won't get used to throwing tantrums when he doesn't get his way!!
Also check out the two videos of Eban in his Exersaucer. He's now practically running around the thing. Very entertaining except when he runs too fast and throws up all over it. yuck!...well...seems like I can't upload these movies. I'll need Ryan to do this for you. So hopefully in the next couple of days, these one minute movies will be up for your viewing pleasure!

Happy 2007
Well, we had a productive year and for the first time got holiday cards out. Even though they were late as the blizzard of 2006 stopped mail for several days. Now we are enduring the first snowstorm of 2007 and school was cancelled so I'm working from home...technically speaking as I'm writing on this.
Let's see what's new. Eban is definitely in 9 month clothes as he's 21 pounds. He now likes the bath and loves to bang his left fist into the water and watch the splashes it makes. It's pretty entertaining. I'm thinking he could be a lefty but we'll see.
Since returning from the trip to DC and Chicago, our cat has been awfully friendly. She's now just over three years old and now she follows me around like a dog. I'm not sure what to make of this and it's a complete change from our "mean cat." She actually jumped in my lap when I was feeding and burping Eban one night. I was absolutely stunned as she has never done this before in her life. She did it the next night so I'm thinking after three years with us, she's finally turning into a normal cat and not just a mean barnyard cat. I have welcomed this new change in Sadie. But she still hates Seamus...poor thing, all he wants to do is be friends with her and she smacks him around. I'm hoping to get that on video some day as it's funny to see a 3 pound cat beat up a 160 pound mastiff.
Here are some pics from our recent vacation...enjoy!
