Since that last post...the infamous laughing Tracy boys...we have done a lot of new things. Last weekend, Eban, Grandpa Morgan and I went on the Georgetown Loop Railroad in the mountains. Jackson had to stay behind with Ryan because he's been fighting the cold...the type of cold that stays around forever and causes him to
be miserable thus causing everyone else to be miserable as we can't do a thing for him. We just have to let it "run its course."
Anyway, Eban LOVED the choo-choo train. He had his head propped out the window the entire time while other kids slept or showed little interest. Eban simply took the whole scene in and loved every second. He didn't want to smile as he'd miss something to see. The trees were turning colors so it was quite scenic in the canyon with the changing aspens...it was just a tad too chilly for me, but if Eban loved it, then I loved it. It's as simple as that.
We also celebrated Jackson's first birthday with a homemade cake...and no candles. Next year, we'll have a blow out party! We promise!
Last weekend, we also purchased Jack's Halloween costume and it was so cute, that we immediately put him in it. Well...Eban got upset and tried to take Jack out of it, so we pulled out his dinosaur costume from last year and put him in it. I kept trying to take the costumes off but Eban wouldn't have it. He wanted them ON! He's quite persistent and stubborn...I have no idea if he takes after his mom or his dad with this trait? Can we blame one of the uncles or aunts for this??? On Saturday, we went to the Denver fire fighter's museum downtown and Eban loved it. Although he was SO very serious the entire time and I don't know if it was too much stimulation or what the deal was...Jack, on the other hand, couldn't have been happier. Check out the HUGE grin of Jack at the museum...so funny!Yesterday, Eban and Ryan had a boys' day at the pool at the Broomfield Recreation Center. They have an indoor water park (of sorts) and they went down the two water slides they have multiple times. Eban would scream as he entered the water slide tunnel and cover his eyes...wish I could have been there, but I was home with Jack hoping he'd fight the cold.
This morning, I went down to southeast Aurora for a 5 segment stint on live television for a giant pumpkin carving segment. The culinary arts high school demonstrator did the carving, but it was interesting to see a 1000 pound pumpkin. The great thing was that the Starbucks supplied us with ample amounts of caffeine every 45 minutes. I love them! I had two white mochas, a caramel macchiato and a raspberry latte. LOVE THEM!!
Anyway, Eban continues to spend some time in time out. He knows it so well that he sends his trains to time out for things "they do." Here's a snippet of last night's time out (one of them anyway)...Eban got frustrated with Jack for some strange reason and he rocketed himself towards him (please visual the Matrix movie where they go sideways through the air while spinning slowly) and shoved him down on the ground. Jack's head thunked on the ground so I picked up Jack first to start soothing and by the time I reached Eban to put him in time out, he was half way across the room and probably forgot what he had done.
Check out the last pic...in the background, you can see Eban with his arm around Jack on the couch...so sweet!!
Ohhhh, and we heard from Nani who is safely with her new Californian family outside of San Diego. There are three kids in the house and they are all active in school so it will be a vastly different experience for her there. Can't wait to have funny updates about her experiences there...I already know the family calls her "Noni" so that's new!!
The first video is from the train ride and the second video is of the kids dressed up...listen to Eban say, "Here you go, Jack."
